The one thing my sister-in-law really wanted to do while she was visiting from Georgia was see a redwood tree.
If we still lived at our old house, she could sit and stare at a few 50-year-old ones all day and all night. My neighbor might even let her camp under them.
Since we don’t live there anymore, Big Basin Redwoods State Park had to do.
The Hub found this place, and I have to say, he really knows how to pick ‘em!
We packed a picnic and headed for the hills. The Santa Cruz Mountains, that is!
It’s a little bit of a trek on a curvy road that goes on for miles, but well worth the drive. And an easy day trip from the San Francisco Bay Area.
Some trees will do anything to find a ray of sunlight.

If you’re ever in the area, and you want to see Redwoods, this is the place to go cuz they’ve got a few here.

Amazing! They really are quite the sight to see up close and personal. I didn’t know you had a sil in Georgia.
Yup, Georgia is where I’m from. Born and raised. I know you’re in the south but not sure where…
Amazing! So jealous of how close you are to the bay area! BTW I just picked out the fabric for the new chair. Totally cute. And I have sold most of my chairs:( The only one’s I have are the little white ones and the pink chair. They are all actually serving a purpose at the minute. I love chairs:)
Very cool!! The hubs and I did Redwood National & State Park (I think that’s what its called?) up in northern California last Thanksgiving- such a cool thing! Those trees are just phenomenal. Great pictures!
Thanks, Michelle! Good to hear from you!
